ROSCon will happen September 12th and 13th, 2014 at the Palmer House in downtown Chicago, Illinois.
The Palmer House is also the location for IROS 2014, which begins the day after ROSCon. So come early and attend both events! Or come even earlier and also attend IMTS 2014, which is happening the week before ROSCon, just a couple of miles away.
Until August 21, there’s a special room rate at the Palmer House of $279/night for ROSCon attendees.
When booking your room, please:
- use this link; or
- use the code “RCO”; or
- call 877-865-5321 (mention ROSCon for the discounted rate).
If you are not able to get the nights you want on the website often a solution can be found by calling the number listed above. We have talked to the Illinois Office of Tourism and they are expecting close to 100% occupancy in Chicago area hotels over the weekend.
Travel
The Blue Line L train runs directly from O’Hare Airport to the Palmer House Hilton. A ticket from the airport is $5.00. However, the California station on the Blue Line is now closed for construction. If you take the L from O’Hare, you will have to get off at the Logan Square station, take the #56 bus to the Western station (bypassing the California station), and get back on the L. The transfer is free but it could add 10-15 minutes to your trip, about an hour total. You may prefer to take or share a taxi (approximately $50) to save the hassle.
Invitation letters for visas
If you require an invitation from the conference organizers to obtain a visa to enter the United States, please email your request to roscon-2014-oc@osrfoundation.org. Please include your full name and mailing address (for inclusion in the letter; we’ll email you the signed letter).
